Junior Team Practice PLUS One Evening Draw

Junior Team Practice PLUS One Evening Draw

Includes Junior practice time profile, PLUS entry in one evening league* (some restrictions apply - see league pages for details).

Teams that played in an evening league in the previous season are guaranteed their same spot this year if having two returning team members.

Players must be 13 years of age as of June 30 of the current year.

New adult teams have priority over new junior teams in evening leagues. Oldest junior teams will be accommodated first. Teams must identify if they wish to play in an evening league at the start of the season. New junior teams interested in this product should contact the club before purchasing.

Junior Team Practice time is a part of our Junior Development Program.

These are typically competitive teams, ages 13-20 who use this time for practicing skill development and for coaching time. This program requires all curling teams to recruit their own coaches/instructors. (NOTE: Anyone under 13 must be assessed and receive approval)

Teams will be assigned two days per week for their practice sessions. Each session is one hour each.

Currently those days are Monday to Thursday (with exception of 5:00pm - 6:00pm on Tuesdays), and ice times can be from 4:00pm - 5:00pm, OR 5:00pm to 6:00pm. (All junior curlers scheduled for 5:00pm start time must be off the ice by 6:00pm for our evening draws).

Note: Returning teams will be offered their previous year's practice time as a priority, and then any open/available spots as next priority. (For more details/information on this policy, please see the Club Manager).

New teams will then be assigned available practice times.

The Program Coordinator will venture to work with the teams to accommodate schedules as much as possible, working with the Club Manager and Club schedule.

Our ice will be scraped and pebbled after our afternoon curling user group for the start of the 4:00pm Junior Practice sessions (it will not be scraped or pebbled between the 4:00pm and 5:00pm sessions).

There is no "sharing" of memberships. All curlers must pay for a membership (i.e., whether a team of four or five, etc...) Extra curlers must pay for a membership or a drop-in fee.

All memberships give you the opportunity to play in members-only tournaments and compete in provincial championships (entry fees are additional). You may also book "Members' Practice Ice" (please see website for days/times) at no cost when ice is available. You can also spare in any league without additional cost.

During the 2022-23 season we will practicing social distancing and all health and safety protocol will be enacted as per our Club Operational Manual(s).

For more information on this, please inquire with any member of the "Return to Play" committee or the Club Manager.

A season schedule will be provided to as a part of our "club calendar" advising specific dates of curling sessions at the start of the season. Every attempt will be made to meet those dates. However, The Cornwall Curling Club reserves the right to re-schedule (when possible) and/or cancel sessions due to weather and/or club events, without compensation (as our club offers "Membership" products, not "ice time"). Every effort possible will always be made to allow for teams to re-schedule their games due to cancellation times related to weather or club events.

We do have a return policy, based on our "Return to Play" polices in place: this is in the event of a public health crisis ONLY. Please see our website for details or check with the Club Manager.

Please make sure you purchase a membership profile/products under "products" tab, followed by your league preference as well under the "Leagues" tab.

For the 2022-23 season: members will be charged for:
1. Their 'product' /membership of choice + HST.
2. We will also collect, on behalf of Curl PEI and Curling Canada their fees [Curl PEI $15.00, Curling Canada $2.00] which we submit on your behalf.

This amount will be paid up front, the curler issued $30.00 in tickets ($5.00 x 6 tickets), and they will have the opportunity to sell the tickets to recover their $30.00 (or they can enter the tickets for themselves). All members must have tickets buyers fill out the ticket stub, and the ticket stubs must be returned to the club by December 12th, for the December 14th draw date.
